Farmers Market Gearing For Third Year.
Fresh fruits, vegetables, meat and other foods will be available in Historic Dublin starting next week.
The Dublin farmers market will return for its third year May 4 and run every Wednesday through September.
When the market opens in the parking lot of Dublin Community Church, 81 W. Bridge St., it will have about 14 to 15 vendors, increasing to about 20 as the growing season continues.
In May, fruits and vegetables still will be available.
"We will have just about everything because we have a couple of vegetable growers and a hydroponic farm that will have lettuce and cucumbers and things like that," market organizer Jamie Moore said. "We'll have asparagus in the next few weeks. From the get-go, we'll be able to start with 14 or 15 vendors and then have 20. We'll add people over the course. There will be plenty of meat, cheese, baked goods, honey, maple syrup and then light fruits and vegetables to get started with. Then in the first of the month, we'll have the first strawberries."
